Cobar Europe BV

On November 15, 1983, Eli Westerlaken created Cobar Europe BV in Holland. Cobar's field of activity is chemical technology for the electronics industry, in particular chemicals for soldering and reflow of printed circuit boards. Today, Cobar Europe is a significant part of the Cobar Group, a multi-million dollar corporation with manufacturing operations in Europe, USA and Asia, and distributors in all major areas of the world. Cobar Europe has become the technological center of the Cobar Group. Cobar's  54,000 sq. ft. (5,000 sq. m) production facility in Breda, Holland, includes a demo-room, various laboratories equipped with analytical instruments and fully automated, state-of-the-art production facilities.

We are a company recognized for its integrity as a partner to the world's largest electronics corporations, including Fortune-500 companies such as AT&T, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Panasonic, Siemens, Philips, Ericsson, Nokia, Bosch, Alcatel and Goldstar.

Cobar's 390-RX is the first synthetic No-Clean wave solder flux qualified by Robert Bosch GmbH in Germany, for the most critical applications in the automotive electronics technology such as the air-bag system for Mercedes Benz.

On March 1, 1994, Cobar Europe became the first soldering company to be accredited to both ISO-9001 and AQAP-110 (NATO). On November 1, 1997 we were again the first to be accredited to ISO 14001. Another first, was the accreditation to the ISO/TS 16949 Standard for Quality Management, on April 1, 2005.

The ISO-certificates are not objectives, but milestones in a continuous program of product innovation and quality awareness. Cobar is the oldest, true ?green? logo in the industry. We were helping military users cleaning with water, long before ecological considerations became popular.
