Although Cobar’s Management System for Quality and Care for the Environment initially has been developed and accredited to the standards of respectively ISO-9001 (since March 1994) and ISO-14001 (since October 1997), nowadays all the requirements of these standards have merged into the more stringent standard of ISO/TS 16949.
The TQM system of Cobar’s Headquarters in Breda, Holland as well of it’s remote site, Cobar Solder Products Inc. in Londonderry, NH, USA has been certified through the accreditation to ISO/TS 16949 on January 14th, 2005.

The scope of certification covers all aspects of our business, including research & development, production and marketing of solder materials for the electronics industry.

Joint Venture and License Manufacturing partners shall have an ISO-9001 2000 certification as a minimum requirement and must commit to a steady upgrade towards ISO/TS 16949.

Cobar’s Vendors are classified in 4 different categories. At the moment they all fall into the category that supplies standard products. Most of these products potentially have a significant impact on the quality of Cobar’s end products. Therefore, it is general policy that all raw material vendors shall have an ISO-9001 2000 certification, or must have confirmed preparing for this.

The structure of the TQM-System
Cobar’s TQM Management system has been integrated into an ERP-package with hyper linked main-maps, process descriptions, procedures, documents, instructions, cross-references and process performance-indicators (PPIs). This set-up makes finding the right data, document or instruction fairly easy.
